What is the difference between these expert reports?
The Guidelines for paternity tests and ancestry reports were by the in April 2025 Genetic Diagnostics Commission amended and published. They regulate, amongst other things, the scope of the investigation, the structure of the report and the qualification of the expert, as well as the requirements for identity safeguarding and sample collection. Our standard expert opinion meets these requirements and even exceeds them through the parallel dual determination of all characteristics using two different testing systems. It meets all the requirements for a forensic report and is therefore suitable for submission to courts and authorities. You will receive a clear conclusion (either a definitive determination of non-paternity or a probability of paternity of at least 99.9%). Guaranteed! If you do not need the test to submit to authorities, but only for your own orientation, the Basic test, our most affordable paternity test, may be suitable for you. The result indicates whether the individuals tested are related or not. And this is also provided unequivocally, either by confirming non-paternity or by establishing a probability of paternity of at least 99.9%. In accordance with legal requirements, this test is carried out with identity verification and a written declaration of consent from all parties involved. However, the Basic Test does not meet all the criteria of our established standard for court-approved reports and is therefore not recommended for submission in court proceedings or to public authorities. A DNA test („genetic fingerprint“) is also used as the testing method here.
